Initiative for Human and Community development (Voluntary aid) is a Community based Organization (C.B.O) Located in the Tamale Metropolis in Northern Region of Ghana. The place is a farming community growing crops like yam, Cassava, Maize, Beans, Cashew, and Sheabutter.Groundnuts and also rear animals for their livelihood.

 

The formation of IHCD was chosen out of the believe that many of our brothers and sisters in Ghana needs our service to promote sustainable health, water, sanitation, Human rights and the provision of lasting peace and development in the community.

 

Mr. Issah M. Bashiru responded to the situation by building him self as well as some high level young personnel’s who pursued high level of education in community development together to form this organization (IHCD) to play facilitation role in peace and development in the community.

 

IHCD was formed in February 2006 with a membership of twenty – six (26) this cut across tribe in the community who needs the development of the community.

 

The Organization also use innovative methods to carry out/ implement developmental projects like; Advocacy on democracy, HIV/AIDS and human rights, trafficking in person Campaign and inclusive education for poor but brilliant students especially persons with disability are some of our planned activities.
